Trees, leaves, and nature, OH MY! We had a great time learning and exploring during our May 1st Environmental Day! Oakbrook Park was the perfect setting for tree related activities that helped us to extend upon our understanding of the natural world. The weather even held out for us and provided just the right temperature! After a quick meeting, students were put into groups and sent off to different stations around the park. Being grouped with students from different classes helped us to learn from different individuals and gave us an opportunity to see different ways of thinking! Of course, the day wasn't all work, we did enjoy a picnic lunch and the kids had a great time playing on the playground! By the end of the day, we were tired, but left with a different perspecitve and greater insight to the natural environment just around the corner from us! This day could not have been done without the help of amazing volunteers like Mrs. Tran, Mrs. Wilkins, Mrs. Jackson, Mrs. Cortes, and Mrs. Arena.
